The 4 Keys To Success

Think for Yourself, Not of Yourself. Think of Others, Not for Others.

I have a truth to tell.

All my life, I have seen countless good, smart, and hardworking people who are unsuccessful.

I asked myself what are the real keys to success?
And I’ve realized they are to BOX, UNBOX, REBOX and CRUSH THE BOX.

You live in a box.
You drive in a box.
You work in a box.
You will be buried in a box.
Don’t live your life in a box.

If you want progress, stay at the EDGE.
Change almost always starts at the EDGES and moves toward the CENTER.

If you want to fit in with the 99%, you will never become the 1%.

If you do what everyone else does, you’re going to get the same results that everyone else gets.

The more neatly you fit into society, the less free you actually are.

BOX

99% of information is noise.
99% of interactions are fake.
99% of opportunities are traps.
99% of effort is wasted.
Life is a search for the 1%.

I put myself in a box.
To search for the 1%.
To search for the right path.
To search for my inner self.
To find out what I want.

To conquer the world, first conquer your life.
To conquer your life, mute the world for a while.

You can get anything.
As long as it’s one thing.
As long as you know what it is.
As long as you want it far more than anything else.

Choose solitude.
Choose intelligence.
Choose drive.

UNBOX

I have never been an expert in anything.
I became a marketer before I knew what marketing was.

Not being an expert makes me a better person.
Because I know nothing, I do not follow the rules.
Because I know nothing, I lie to myself there is no box.

Opportunities are like sunrises.
If you wait too long, you miss them.
Nothing costs more than a missed opportunity.

Fear is the #1 source of regret.
It’s the dreams we didn’t go after that haunt us.

Lie to yourself to create opportunities.

Lying isn’t enough though. I’ve realized I have to cheat.

.

I cheat on myself.
I cheat on society.
I cheat on my friends.
I cheat on my family.

Cheating means you learn to say NO.

I say NO a lot.
I say NO to stick to my vision.
I say NO to do what is good for me instead of what I want to do.
I say NO to myself to take risk.
I say NO to others to stay focused.

Saying YES to something means saying NO to something else.
No one can have it all.
There is always a trade-off.
Everything has an opportunity cost.

If you want to fly, give up everything that weighs you down.

The difference between successful people and very successful people is that very successful people say NO to almost everything. — Warren Buffett

Choose yourself.
Choose your dream.
Think for yourself, not of yourself.
Think of others, not for others.

Cheat on everything.
Turn your dream into reality.

REBOX

If you rebox yourself in an object, it will last until it is used up.
If you rebox yourself in money, it will last until you spend it all.
If you rebox yourself in power, one day you will lose it.
If you rebox yourself in fame, one day it will fade.
But..
If you rebox yourself in a product, it will be there until you die.

At any price
Rebox yourself in a product.

S = L + [RV x (MV + CV)]

Success = Luck + Perceived Value/Market Value

Success = Luck + [Real Value x (The Marketing + Capturing Value you do)]

Success = Take more shots + [(Create + Maintain Value) x (Deliver + Capture Value)]

Success = Take more shots + [(Do what you love and are good at) x (Do what the world needs and you can be paid for)]

Success = Luck + [(Passion ⋂ Profession) x (Mission ⋂ Vocation)]

Create a product out of whatever
Fulfills your passion/strength.
Solves people’s problems.
Makes a living.

CRUSH THE BOX

Many years ago, a company stole the touchscreen concept. They launched a handheld, portable, touchscreen device — in 1993. Designed to fit in a back pocket, it was truly revolutionary for its time.

He, on his return in 1997, proceeded to kill the product. The customers were picketing and were very angry. He decided to cheat on all the supporters of that project to focus on something else. A decade after killing it, he would return to touchscreen handheld devices with a new project. The team lied to themselves this project would succeed and worked very hard to make it happen, even when nobody believed in them including some of the top CEOs in Silicon Valley.

That project was Iphone.

Their lies became reality and their lives would never be the same.

Nothing is completely original.
All creative work builds on what came before.
Nothing is meant to be stable.
Definitive stability equals death.

There is no new idea.
There is no bad idea.
There is no good idea.

Every idea can be great, if it is at the right time, right place, and executed by the right people.

Kill ideas.
Steal knowledge.
Learn. Unlearn. Relearn.

Lie. Cheat. Steal. Kill.
Crush the box.

Success is not about money.
Success is not about power.
Success is not about fame.
Success is the freedom to choose.

BOX. UNBOX. REBOX. CRUSH THE BOX.

You live in a box.
You drive in a box.
You work in a box.
You will be buried in a box.
Don’t live your life in a box.

If you want to fit it with the 99%, you will never become the 1%.

.

In life you have two choices.

The pain of staying where you are, or the pain of growth.

Neither is right or wrong. If you are happy, other expectations no longer matter.

The point is, everything comes with a price.

If you haven’t gotten what you want yet, it’s a sign you didn’t really want it, or you tried to negotiate over the price.

We all get to choose our life path. It’s our choices that define us, not our gifts.

To know what drives these principles, read this.
